Work Schedule: Monday - Friday / First Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Meaningful contribution to the preparation of biological samples for the method development, assay qualification, and sample support specifically related to clinical biomarker initiatives across therapeutic areas.
  • Proficient in understanding, following, performing, and documenting complex experiments in a timely manner
  • Experience in advanced liquid pipetting and electronic lab notebook documentation
  • Ability to communicate workflows and findings effectively in the form of well-organized presentations and procedures to various audiences including external CRO vendors
  • Interest in learning large molecule mass spectrometry techniques related to clinical outcomes in a fast paced, well outfitted laboratory
  • Willingness to assist with general lab operations such as instrument set-up, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting
  • Responsible for general laboratory and operational support. Including providing logistical support for samples and compounds management, ordering supplies and carrying out general bench work activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of biological samples and associated calibration curves in a highly reproducible and accurate manner for mass spectrometry analysis
  • Timely and complete documentation of experimental procedures and/or results in electronic lab notebook
  • Design of experiments in collaboration with colleagues to satisfy project deliverables
  • Assistance with general lab operations (instrument maintenance, cleaning, calibration, etc)
  • Generation of scientific collateral using Microsoft Office applications and effective presentation of findings to audiences. Includes preparation of experimental procedures and training of others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS/MS degree in chemistry, biological sciences, biochemistry, or related fields
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • PhD: No

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Biological sample preparation experience involving a multi-step process to isolate, purify, and concentrate an analyte of interest
  • Experience in the operation of standing laboratory equipment including manual and automated pipetting
  • Working understanding of protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry
  • Ability to multitask as both an independent contributor and a collaborative team member
  • Strong organizational and communication skills including familiarity with generating scientific collateral using Microsoft Office applications

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to meet the standard requirements for a lab-based role and perform all typical lab related activities (lifting ≤20 pounds, frequent pipetting, long stretches on feet, etc)
  • Potential sample handling and processing of human and NHP tissues and blood
