Structural Design Engineer

Job Description:

• Required to have a bachelors degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 20 years engineering experience performing program and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations.
• Provides knowledge and experience to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
• Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
• Provide complete task management of engineering issues. Directs and guides other engineers in their work.

Position Requirements:

• Prefer 4 years of experience or more (negotiable)
• B.S. & M.S. in Structural Engineering recommended
• Experience in Structural Design Engineering required for industrial plants
• Provided designs for piping, motors, structures, transformers, heavy equipment, etc.
• Facilitated structural issues such as equipment vibration, piping vibrations, etc.
• Desire previous experience with Extended or Stretch Type Power Uprates (EPU or SPU), Turbine Replacements (Turbine Retrofits), Nuclear Main Generator Replacements, Steam Generator Replacements
• Previous experience with power plant systems analysis (containment validations, reactor embrittlement, license extensions, vibration analysis & mitigation, etc.)

Job Description:

• Authoring/developing design change packages in accordance with IP-ENG-001 industry design process
• Provide design engineering support for nuclear power plant refueling outages
