Client Job Title: Mobile Device Testing Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Mandatory Skills:

  • Mobile device testing

  • IOS/Android operating system

  • Experience with automation tools like Spirent or Eggplant

  • Basic logging skills with QXDM and QCAT

 

Job Description

This position requires hands-on experience with Android and/or iOS-based mobile devices, including high-level understanding of the wireless telecom ecosystem, and passion/discipline to work with new and emerging products and technologies.


 

Mobile Device Testing Engineer Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and revise test plans, procedures, and quality standards for software and hardware, focused on wireless products and related accessories

  • Manage the cross-functional bug reporting and resolution process; ability to SW upgrade the devices using OEM tools

  • Manage test sample requirements and inventory; ensure distributed samples are tracked and upgraded to the latest available firmware level

  • Validate OEM and test partners’ test results by executing the regression test plan and performing other ad-hoc random testing

  • Test and certify MRs (maintenance releases or software updates) and Security MRs by executing the regression plan and impacted test cases

  • Manage activation and deactivation of test samples

  • Compile test results data, collect logs, and write required engineering reports to report to OEMs and other fix agents

  • Update issue tracking and management tools to ensure all information is current and properly shared

  • Troubleshoot related issues; test, maintain, and monitor relevant solutions and logs; perform field testing if required to reproduce the issue

  • Monitor customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop test methods to improve overall customer satisfaction

  • Deploy new test tools as required

  • Knowledge in JIRA and Confluence

  • Understanding of LTE and 5G RF and Core technologies

Education and Experience

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

  • Certifications: N/A

  • Years of Experience:

    • 5+ years in product development and/or technology management roles

    • 3+ years in mobile and/or wireless space
