Description

Approx 36 hours per week; Shift: 12-hour night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m./ 3 days a week

Variable days, generally three shifts per week; not a block schedule Weekend requirement:

Must commit to every other or every third weekend Schedule is posted one month in advance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately transcribing patient-care orders and entering information into the computer.
  • Performing clerical duties to support the efficient operation of the assigned nursing unit.
  • Filing orders, reports, and patient-related information in medical charts promptly.
  • Organizing work to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Supporting effective working relationships within the healthcare team.
  • Managing the work environment to promote a safe and cost-effective workplace.
  • Completing age-specific competency requirements for the assigned department.
  • Completing all certifications required by the Division of Nursing.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education:         

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a medical terminology course
  • Basic computer training/skills

One of the following:

  • Certificate from a formal Unit Secretary program
  • Successful completion of one semester in an accredited RN program
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Current CPR certification
